\u201cSoldiers cannot make peace, perhaps they might\u00a0just win a war. We need Politics to pursue peace, but right now Politics\u00a0is missing and we don\u2019t even know what is going to happen next<\/em>\u201d. With these words the newly elected\u00a0Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarcate in Jerusalem, Mons. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, recently described the ongoing situation in Aleppo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While Aleppo is being freed by the Loyalist army<\/strong>, the news<\/strong> we get from the town are confused<\/strong>. The situation remains\u00a0uncertain and a lot of people still live in horrible conditions.<\/p>\n

The Franciscan Friars of the Custody of the Holy Land have\u00a0sent us a picture showing a\u00a0mortal blow stuck on the street<\/strong>: it means that the fighting is not over yet<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s a matter of time\u201d they write to us, \u201cbut there\u2019s still much fear among us<\/strong>\u201d, because the situation is not clear at all. Just like that mortar blow stuck in the street, the war has left and still leaves deep scars\u00a0in Aleppo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Aleppo needs help now, immediately<\/strong>, \u201cthe battle is still on\u201d since\u00a0\u201cthe last ones do not want to give up\u201d. It is necessary to support people who want to remain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But, above all, Aleppo will need help soon, for reconstruction.<\/strong><\/p>\n
