A project to support the forgotten children of Aleppo<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the project “a name and a future” we would like to introduce you to is aimed at taking care <\/strong>of the abandoned children<\/strong> and those born to women<\/strong> who were raped and abused<\/strong> in the last eight years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These children are part of a society that no one wants to consider<\/strong> and represent a problem which is often hidden to avoid scandal<\/strong>. Most of these children and their mothers live in appalling conditions because they do not receive any assistance from the state<\/strong>. Indeed they cannot be recorded at the registry office because they are considered \u2018children of sin<\/strong>\u2019. They are marginalized<\/strong> and are in desperate need of everything: food, water but also and especially psychological recovery<\/strong> and social reintegration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project has been strongly supported by the bishop George Abou Khazen<\/strong>, Apostolic Vicar of Aleppo, Fr. Firas Lufti<\/strong>, superior of the Franciscan community at the Terra Sancta College<\/strong>, and Mahmoud Akam, Mufti of Aleppo<\/strong>, who were the first to acknowledge this serious social emergency<\/strong>. The main objective is to support these children and their mothers by meeting their most urgent needs and  ensure them a better future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
