Der Franziskaner und Arch\u00e4ologe Michele Piccirillo\u201c"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"piccirliio\" src=\"https:\/\/www.proterrasancta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC04060-250x166.jpg\" alt=\"piccirillo\" width=\"250\" height=\"166\"><\/p>\n<p>\u201eDas Buch entstand aus Liebe zu einem au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlichen Menschen.\u201c Mit diesen Worten stellte Pater Giovanni Claudio Bottini das Werk \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.proterrasancta.org\/22-ottobre-giornata-in-ricordo-di-padre-michele-piccirillo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michele Piccirillo<\/a>, francescano archeologo, tra scienza e provvidenza\u201d vor, das an den k\u00fcrzlich verstorbenen Franziskaner und Arch\u00e4ologen erinnert. Die Pr\u00e4sentation erfolgte im Rahmen der Veranstaltung \u201eEin Blick auf Christen im Nahen Osten\u201c, die w\u00e4hrend der Nahost-Synode veranstaltet wurde. \u201eAls Arch\u00e4ologe trug Piccirillo dazu bei, dass einige Kapitel der Kirchengeschichte neu geschrieben wurden, denn die von ihm entdeckten Mosaiken enthielten Namen von Bisch\u00f6fen, Priestern und Kirchen und zeigten, dass die christlichen Gemeinden im Heiligen Land w\u00e4hrend der ersten drei Jahrhunderte der muslimischen Herrschaft bl\u00fchten\u201c, kommentierte Pater Bottini. Zugleich erinnerte er daran, dass Pater Piccirillo die Arch\u00e4ologie zu einem Werkzeug des Friedens und der Begegnung zwischen Menschen verschiedener Religionen gemacht und dadurch die konkreten Bed\u00fcrfnisse der Menschen vor Ort erf\u00fcllt habe.<\/p>\n<p>Die kulturelle und k\u00fcnstlerische Auswertung der Grabungsst\u00e4tten war nie das einzige Ziel des Franziskaners: Bei den abgeschlossenen Ma\u00dfnahmen wie auch bei den laufenden Projekten von ATS Pro Terra Sancta, dem Hilfswerk der Kustodie des Heiligen Landes, wird viel investiert, um die Wirtschaft der betroffenen Region zu f\u00f6rdern und den Nutzen f\u00fcr die Einheimischen zu mehren. Nehmen wir beispielsweise das Mosaik-Zentrum in Jericho und seine nach wie vor wichtige Rolle in der Berufsausbildung der Einheimischen. \u201eDas Mosaik-Zentrum in Jericho\u201c, sagt der Architekt Osama Hamdan, der zu den Sch\u00fclern von Pater Michele Piccirillo geh\u00f6rt und mit ATS Pro Terra Sancta zusammenarbeitet, \u201edient im Pal\u00e4stinensergebiet sowohl zur Restaurierung als auch zur Anfertigung von Mosaiken. Im Jahre 2002 begannen wir mit zwei Leuten, inzwischen sind es dreizehn. Der Gedanke war, nicht einfach simple Techniker und Arbeitnehmer auszubilden, sondern Leute, die selbst\u00e4ndig denken k\u00f6nnen. Nicht in Steine, sondern in Menschen investieren.\u201c Dasselbe Prinzip liegt den Ma\u00dfnahmen zugrunde, die am Perlmutter-Laboratorium in Bethlehem durchgef\u00fchrt werden. \u201eHier geht es darum\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt die Kunsthistorikerin Carla Benelli, \u201edurch die Ausbildung lokaler Handwerker eine Produktion wiederzubeleben, die seit dem Jahr 1600 in Bethlehem Meisterwerke geschaffen hat, die heute in Museen in aller Welt geh\u00fctet werden.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Ein anderes Projekt, das Pater Michele Piccirillo konzipierte und begann, ist neulich von ATS Pro Terra Sancta in Sebastia durchgef\u00fchrt worden.
